Arnold Police Reports: Fake MoDOT Purchase Orders, DWIs and Drug Possession Charges

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information for the week ending March 6.

March 6
Someone broke a vehicle window and stole an laptop computer, valued at $450, from a parked vehicle at , at 1912 Richardson Place. The victim said she was watching a movie in the theater during the robbery.

March 5

  • A victim, in the 700 block of Londell, reported missing more than $4,700 in property. Someone forced entry into a storage building and stole a laptop and BMW tires, wheels, stereo equipment and a tachometer.
  • A Fenton woman, 31, faces charges for allegedly stealing a set of sheets valued at $209 from the store at 2150 Michigan Ave. Officers released the woman on summons.
  • A St. Louis woman, 24, and her friends face shoplifting charges after Kohl’s store security caught her allegedly stealing clothing. While in the store’s security office, the woman said her friends were in a vehicle in the parking lot waiting for her with other unpaid items, the police report said. Officers found the vehicle, her friends and the items. The woman and her friends were booked and released on individual court summons.
  • A Ste. Genevieve woman, 47, was charged with driving while intoxicated after officers stopped her for a traffic violation near the intersection of Jeffco Boulevard and Hickory Manor.

  • Arnold police officers and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies charged a man, residing in the 100 block of Red Diamond Court, with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a wreck about about 3 a.m. The man allegedly struck a victim’s garage door and mailbox. The man seemed to be intoxicated when officers and deputies arrived at his home, the police report said. The man refused a breath test, was booked and then released to a sober driver.
  • Police charged a woman, 36, residing in the 800 block of Sun Valley South drive with assaulting her step-daughter. The woman was booked, held and released on a court summons.

March 3

  • The owner for Motterts Lawn Mower Repair, 228 Tenbrook Road, reported that someone stole $550 in equipment by posing as a Missouri Department of Transportation employee. On Feb 18, the person presented a fraudulent purchase order for two trimmers and a power washer. Three days later, someone used another fraudulent MoDOT purchase order to steal a lawn mower valued at $2,200. The crime report did not indicate whether the same person or different people posed as MoDOT employees.
  • Officers arrested an Arnold man, 23, in the 100 block of Bethany Court after responding to call about a suspect stealing from a vehicle. Officers found the man hiding at the rear of the home and holding the missing items. The suspect faces charges for stealing less than $500 and is being held for further investigation.

March 2
A mother reported her purse missing from her unlocked car after she dropped off her child at a day car center in the 1700 block of Missouri State Road at 6:40 a.m. Her purse held credit cards and prescription drugs, according to the police report.

  • Arnold police officers held an Imperial man, 24, in lieu of a $1,683 bond and eight Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department traffic warrants.
  • An Arnold woman, 33, of the 2100 block of Doe Run faces methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia possession charges after Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies contacted her about an order of protection.

Feb. 28

  • Walmart store security, at the 2201 Michigan Ave., detained an Arnold man, 24, for shoplifting. The man faces charges of stealing less than $500 and received a court summons
  • A man and a woman, both 19 years old, from St. Louis face marijuana possession charges after police stopped them for a traffic violation at the intersection of Richardson Road and Interstate 55.
  • A Herculaneum man, 32, faces charges of driving while intoxicated and evading St. Louis County police officers. Arnold police officers caught the man at the intersection of Richardson Road and Rosedale Drive at about 1:20 a.m. The man’s breath test showed he had a blood alcohol level of .212. A person is legally intoxicated at .08 percent according to Missouri state law. The man was booked then released to a sober driver.
  • A St. Louis woman, 20, faces charges of driving while intoxicated and minor in possession of alcohol after police stopped her for a traffic violation near the intersection of Telegraph Road and Arnold Tenbrook Road at about 2 a.m. The woman refused to take a breath test. Officers booked the woman then released her to a sober driver.
