Baby OK After Abduction From Imperial Gas Station

The 19-month-old girl was found in the driveway of a nearby home by a man walking home from deer hunting, KMOV-TV reports.

Police have caught a suspect who stole a SUV from a Phillips 66 gas station on Old Route 21 in Imperial with a baby inside, KMOV reports.

The 19-month-old girl was found in the driveway of a nearby home on Romaine Creek Road still secured in the car seat, according to the station. A man walking by returning from deer hunting found the toddler. She was unharmed and has been returned to her mother.

Around 5 p.m. Wednesday, a woman pulled into a Phillips 66 gas station on Old Route 21 and left her toddler inside her Jeep Cherokee, KMOV reports. When she came out, the SUV and the child were gone.

Jefferson County police caught the suspect along Highway 141 near Fenton, who is facing several charges including kidnapping, the station reported. The mother may also face charges for leaving her child unattended.
