A report from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office

A cab driver told the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office he was inside a carwash in Barnhart when he was robbed at gunpoint.

The cab driver was inside a car wash stall the intersection of Highways 61 and 67 around 11:30 a.m. when two men approached the rear of the vehicle. One of the men placed a semi-automatic pistol to the driver’s head, demanding his money and then his wedding ring. The items were valued at $500.
