Counterfeit Money Passed in Arnold

Arnold Police Department's crime reports also show multiple thefts in the Starling Community.

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information. None of it indicates a conviction or guilty plea.

Dec. 11

Driving While Influenced — Arnold police charged an Arnold man, 20, with driving while influenced after finding him at a car wreck at the intersection of Vogel Road and West Outer Road at 9:30 a.m. Police booked the man, learned he had a blood alcohol level of .203 and later released him to a sober driver.

Counterfeit Bill Passed — A employee, at 2001 Richardson Rd., reported that a woman pre-paid for gasoline with a counterfeit $20 bill at 10:30 a.m.

Marijuana, Paraphernalia Possession — Arnold police investigated a possible gas leak in the 500 block of Mount Vernon Drive at about 2:20 p.m. Police found an Arnold man, 53, in possession of marijuana and a pipe. Police released the suspect on a court summons and transferred him to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in South St. Louis County for treatment.

Shoplifting — Arnold police traveled to at 2150 Michigan Ave., and charged an Imperial man, 20, with stealing $170 in merchandise.

Assaulting Mom — Arnold police responded to a 1:15 a.m. call from 888 Arnold Commons Drive, the address for hotel, and charged a 24 year old Arnold woman with assaulting her mother. Police booked the suspect, jailed her and later released her on a court summons.

Dec. 10

Suspect Caught in Credit Card Fraud — Arnold police transferred a St. Louis man, 19, from St. Louis County Police, in connection to a relative’s missing credit card. On Dec. 8, an Arnold woman reported her credit card and identification card missing from her purse, while she was at the Sports Zone sports bar at 22 Arnold Mall. The suspect had the credit card and allegedly used the card for a St. Louis County purchase.

Driving While Influenced — A St. Louis man, 25, faces charges of driving while influenced after police found him in a single vehicle wreck at the intersection of Interstate 55 and Highway 141 at about 10:30 p.m. The man refused to take a breath test. Police booked him and later released him to a sober driver.

Santa Stolen — A Karpos Street resident reported the inflatable Santa Claus missing from his home at about 10:30 p.m. The loss is valued at $100.

Marijuana Possession — Arnold police charged an Arnold man, 18, with marijuana possession after stopping him for a traffic violation at the intersection of West Outer Road and Elm Drive at about 10:30 p.m. Police released him at the scene on a court summons.

Dec. 9

Marijuana Possession — Arnold police found a St. Louis man, 20, sleeping in a car parked in on the 2000 block of Key West Drive at 4 p.m. The man faces marijuana charges.

Driving While Influenced — A Festus man, 44, faces charges of driving while influenced after Arnold police stopped man for a traffic violation near the intersection of Interstate 55 and Richardson Road at about 1 a.m. The suspect refused to take a breath test, was booked and later released to a sober driver.

Driving While Influenced, Curfew Violation — A 17-year-old Arnold boy faces DWI charges after Arnold police stopped him for a traffic violation in the 2200 block of Old Lemay Ferry Road at about 4:30 a.m. Police charged the passenger, a 16 year old boy, with curfew violation. A breath test revealed the driver had a .103 blood alcohol level and later released him to a sober driver. Police released the juvenile to a parent.

Dec. 8

Meth Lab Found — Arnold police investigating a burglary along Ozark Drive found an active methamphetamine laboratory in the area. The Jefferson County Drug Task Force took over the investigation, police said.

Driving While Influenced — Arnold police charged a St. Louis woman, 21, with driving while influenced after a traffic stop along Arnold-Tenbrook Road. Police arrested the woman, took her to the Arnold Police Station and learned she had a blood alcohol level of .161. Police released to woman on a court summons and to a sober driver.

Dec. 7

Property Damage — A Ridgeway Drive rental property manager reported that someone damaged a rental property after its former tenant was evicted.

Stolen Air Conditioner — A DLJ Properties employee, at 3581 Jeffco Blvd., reported an air conditioner missing from a rental property. The employee said the property has been vacant for months and was last inspected on Nov. 30.

Driver Fails to Pay for Gas — A employee, at 3611 West Outer Rd., said the driver of silver Dodge Intrepid with a Missouri license plate pumped $42 of fuel and left without paying.

Driving While Influenced — Arnold police responding to a call traveled to 2001 Richardson Rd., and charged a Jackson, TN man, 48, with DWI. Police said the man became verbally abusive and arrested him. Police brought the man to the Arnold Police Department, gave him a test and learned he had a blood alcohol level of .13. Police held the man until a sober driver arrived from Tennessee.

Dec. 6

Drug Paraphernalia Possession — Police charged an Imperial man, 20, with drug paraphernalia possession after a traffic stop in the 3600 block of Richardson Square Way at about 8:40 a.m. Police released the suspect on a court summons.

Counterfeit Bills Passed —

  • A employee, 1289 Jeffco Blvd., reported that a customer tried to buy lunch with a counterfeit $20 bill. 
  • A employee at 3890 Jeffco Blvd., reported that a customer also attempted to buy items with a counterfeit $20 bill at about 11:30 a.m. 

Shoplifting — Walmart store security, at 2201 Michigan Ave., detained two suspects, on separate offenses, for attempting to steal merchandise.

  • A Festus woman, 33, faces charges of stealing about $66 in merchandise.
  • A De Soto girl, 17, faces charges of stealing about $83 in items.

Police released both suspects on court summonses.

Dec. 5

Driving While Influenced — Thefts

  • Stolen Leaf Blower — A Starling Community woman reported a leaf blower missing from her locked shed. The loss is estimated at $100.00.
  • Stolen welder and compressor — Another Starling Community resident reported his welder and compressor, total value estimated at $500, missing from shed. 

Stolen Credit Card — An Arnold woman reported that someone used her company-issued credit card to buy a $59 sewing machine on the online retail site Walmart.com.

Driving While Influenced — Arnold police charged an Arnold man, 46, with driving while influenced and for marijuana possession after a traffic stop at the intersection of Interstate 55 and Highway 141 at about 9:40 p.m. The suspect refused to take a breath test. Police booked the suspect then released him to a sober driver.

Driving While Influenced — Police, in a separate traffic stop, also charged an Imperial woman, 21, with a DWI after failing to yield to an emergency vehicle at about 11:41 p.m. The suspect refused to take a breath test, police said. Police released the woman to specialists for medical treatment.

Assault, Property Damage — Police traveled to Edgemont Drive to arrest a St. Louis man, 43, who allegedly used his car to damage property. Police said the suspect also assaulted the victim at about midnight. Police booked the suspect and held him until a judge issued a court summons.
