ID Theft Leads to $3,000 Phone Purchase in Georgia

The following information was provided by the Arnold Police Department.

April 30 

Trespassing, Dog at large — An Imperial man, 53, and an Oklahoma woman, 54, face charges of trespassing and allowing their dogs to run unleashed through Arnold City Park after city officials closed it due to flooding from the Meramec River. Police found the suspects walking through the water in the flooded park area. The suspects were issued court summonses and released at the scene.

Assault, Disturbing the Peace — A man at Arnold Park Mall reported that three boys, each 14 years old, were hiding in a box and blocking a store. The victim’s wife hit the box with the door while leaving the store and the boys allegedly cursed at her, the police said. The man told the boys he was calling the police. One of the boys punched and struggled with the caller, the police report said. The juvenile ran when officers arrived and was caught in the parking lot. The boys were released to parents, the police said.

Stealing, Trespassing — employees, at 860 Arnold Commons, detained an Imperial man, 24, after he allegedly consumed an energy drink without purchasing it. The suspect was caught at other Dierbergs stores for stealing. Police released the man at the scene with summonses for stealing and trespassing.

Stealing — A man reported his wallet missing while his car was parked overnight in the 2300 block of Lee Drive. Police found the wallet near the intersection of Tenbrook Road and Hyde Park Road and returned it to him.

iPod Found — A resident, in the 2300 block of Lee Drive, found and reported an iPod Shuffle in her front yard. Police booked the item as found property. 

Returned property — Police found and returned a missing GPS unit to a Weedel Drive resident. The victim reported the unit missing from her car after it was parked overnight. Police found the unit in a mailbox near Summit Drive.

Stealing — An Alan Drive resident reported missing a college book bag and coins from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked overnight.

Stealing — A employee, at 3611 West Outer Road, reported the driver of a tan Chevrolet S-10 left without paying for $30 in gas

DWI, Suspended license — An Arnold man, 43, faces charges of driving while intoxicated and driving on a suspended license after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Jeffco and Plaza roads. The suspect was booked and released to a sober driver.

April 26

Revoked License — Police charged a Fenton man, 31, with driving on a revoked license during a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 141 and Astra Way. Police booked the suspect and released him on a summons.

Property Damage, Theft — Two women reported damage to their cars’ windows while the cars were parked on Missouri State Road after 8 p.m. One victim said her purse, wallet, debit card, car stereo and a trunk-mounted subwoofer were missing. The other victim only reported damage to her car seat.

April 25

Stealing — Arnold police charged an Imperial resident, 29, with stealing fuel from U-Gas. Officers held the suspect on multiple traffic warrants from Festus, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department. Police are also searching for an Imperial woman, 31, who fled the scene after allegedly stealing ice cream and candy from the business.

Identity Theft — A Tenbrook woman filed report stating that someone used her identity to purchase $3,000 in phones in the state of Georgia.

Drug and paraphernalia possession — Responding to a call, officers found an Imperial man, 28, with a syringe filled with a clear liquid sitting in a car in the 1500 block of Jeffco Blvd. The police also found a small plastic bag holding a white powder. The suspect was released pending an arrest warrant.

Stealing — A U-Gas employee reported that a woman driving a white Chevrolet Beretta allegedly pumped about $52 in gas and left without paying.

Marijuana Possession — Officers charged a 17-year-old De Soto male with marijuana possession during a traffic stop near the intersection of Highway 141 and Astra Way. The suspect was released on a court summons.
