Juveniles Steal Motorized Shopping Cart from Walmart

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information. None of it indicates a conviction or guilty plea.

June 9

Stolen dog—A victim reported that between 2 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. someone removed a collar from a puppy pit bull that was secured to a tree in the victim’s front yard and stole the dog.

Shopping cart theft—A 13 year-old and a 15 year-old from Arnold were detained after taking a motorized shopping cart from the parking lot. Both were released to parents. Report to be forwarded to the Jefferson County Juvenile Office.

Alcohol theft—After a shoplifter was detained by store security for taking two bottles of champagne, he returned the stolen merchandise and fled the store on foot. The suspect was later identified as a 22-year-old man from Imperial. He was entered in the computer as wanted.

June 10

Shoplifting— store security observed a man place items valued at $150 into a shopping cart and push the cart out of the store and away from the location. Security attempted to stop him unsuccessfully. Officers located the suspect identified as 24-year-old man from Arnold. The subject was arrested and conveyed to the Arnold Police Department where he was booked and released on summons.

Meth bust—A 25-year-old man from Arnold was stopped after he was observed driving off the roadway near the railroad tracks at the end of Carol Lane. During the stop, components for a methamphetamine lab were discovered and the Jefferson County Drug Task Force responded. The driver and his passenger, a 23-year-old man from Arnold, were arrested for the drug violation. Both also had outstanding warrants through this department and St. Louis County. Following booking, both were placed into cells pending the posting of bond.

Dine and Dash—An 18 year-old man, a 17-year-old man, a 16-year-old juvenile, and three, 14-year-old juveniles were all arrested after leaving without paying for food at Denny’s. Four containers of liquor were also found in the vehicle they attempted to flee in. One of subjects was also found to be wanted by St. Louis City for property damage. The juveniles were released to parents. Following booking, one of the adult males was placed in a cell and held on a bond. Another adult was issued summons and placed in a cell pending release to authority.
