Man Breaks Girlfriend's Cell Phone So She Can't Call for Help, Police Say
Jonathan Ortwein hit his girlfriend and pulled her hair, police state in court documents.
An Imperial man faces domestic assault charges stemming from an incident on March 1.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Department officers say that Jonathan Ortwein, who lives at 3738 Hill and Dale Drive, assaulted his girlfriend by pulling her hair and hitting her with closed fists.
Ortwein, 19, also broke her cell phone and didn't allow her to call for help, police state in court documents.

Third-degree domestic assault is a class A misdemeanor that carries with it a punishment of up to a year in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
