Man Drew Handgun After Argument Over Extramarital Affair, Police Say

The Imperial man faces two criminal charges in connection to the incident.

An Imperial man faces criminal charges after police say he pulled a gun on another man who was having an affair with his wife. 

Raymond Harris, 44, of the 2700 block of Spring Forest Road, has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon and third-degree assault, according to a court document. 

The incident dates back to March 10. In the court document, a Jefferson County Sheriff's Department deputy wrote that Harris arrived to the 1200 block of State Road M in an attempt to fight with another man over the extramarital affair.

Several people attempted to prevent the fight, which led Harris to punch one of them, the deputy wrote.

He then pulled out a handgun and threatened to kill the man who was having the affair.

Unlawful use of a weapon is a class D felony and third-degree assault is a class A misdemeanor.
