Man Lunges at Value Place Manager With Knife

The tenant dropped the knife, and the manager was able to subdue him in a choke-hold until Arnold police arrived.

A tenant at Value Place lunged at a manager with a knife while he was standing in the doorway of the man's room April 2.

The manager was attempting to evict the 33-year-old St. Louis man, said Maj. Nick McBroom, of the Arnold Police Department. The man became upset and belligerent and slammed the door in the manager's face.

The manager knocked on the door again, McBroom said. The man opened the door, grabbed a knife off the counter and lunged toward the manager.
