Minors in Possession of Alcohol, Child Molestation Charges in Arnold Crime Report

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

June 11

Property Damage — A Maxville Lane resident reported that someone cut the wiring to an air conditioning unit but did not remove the unit.

Theft — a Jere Lane women reported missing a ring, GPS system and money from her unlocked car while it was parked overnight.

Minors in Possession of Alcohol — Officers responded to a call about several males drinking and disturbing residents at 1900 Richardson Place. Police stopped a vehicle occupied by several young males as it left the area. Officers charged two 17-year-old boys, one from Arnold and the other from Imperial, and several other unidentified juveniles with minors in possession of alcohol. All subjects were released to parents. 

Robbery — A victim reported missing about $230 in cash and her cell phone after shopping at the Goodwill store, at 3616 Richardson Square. The police report stated the woman had used the store bathroom.

Car Damage, Theft — A Jere Lane man reported damage to his vehicle’s passenger side window. He said his wallet, with $105, was missing from the vehicle while it was parked overnight.

June 8

Child Molestation Charges — Arnold police charged a Kansas City man, 30, with sexually assaultiing his former stepson, 12. The suspect was staying with his ex-wife after moving from Kansas City to Arnold. The victim reported the assault, the police report stated.

Felony Probation Violation — During a traffic stop near the northbound Interstate 55 and Church Road, police officers arrested an Arnold man, 30, on a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department warrant for a felony parole violation. Police booked and held the suspect for release to a Jefferson County law enforcement officers.

Possession of Burglary Tools — Police officers charged two Florida men, ages 22 and 23, after responding to a call from, at 215 Arnold Crossroads, about men looking into cars in the parking lot. Police found the suspects in a Florida rental car, neither man was the renter, and in possession of burglary tools. Officers also found three cars with recent damage to the drivers’ side door locks. A background check revealed the suspects were on parole for weapons offenses in Florida and ordered to remain within that state's borders. The men were held for further investigation and pending Florida warrants.

Vehicle Damage, Theft — A Washington Drive man reported missing $119 in items from his vehicle while it was parked on Washington Drive overnight.

Drug Paraphernalia Possession — During a traffic stop near the intersection of Richardson Road and Briarwood Drive, police charged an Imperial man, 21, with drug paraphernalia possession. Police released the man at the scene on a court summons.

Fatality — Richard D. Leffert died of a motorcycle wreck near the intersection of Hwy. 141 and Interstate 55 at about 11:30 p.m. The motorcycle exited I-55 and struck the median on Hwy. 141. St. Anthony’s Medical Center doctors pronounced the driver dead from injuries. 

June 7

Felony Check Charges — While investigating an animal complaint at Arnold Commons, an Arnold police officer arrested a Farmington woman, 35, wanted by St. Louis city on felony check charges. Police booked and released the woman to St. Louis City law enforcement.
