Pets Die After Blaze Engulfs Arnold Home

Three dogs and a cat were victims of an overnight fire in the 500 block of Rockwood Drive. No human injuries were reported.

A home in the 500 block of Rockwood Drive was completely destroyed by a fire that started around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday.

The young couple who lived at the home were gone at the time, but their three dogs and cat were killed in the fire, said Ron Harder, public information officer of Rock Community Fire Protection District.

When firefighters arrived, flames were already shooting through the roof of the home, Harder said. They were able to prevent the blaze from spreading, but the home was completely destroyed.
