Police Blotter: Man Arrested After Threatening Assault With Hammer

Thursday, August 16
Animal neglect — A dog was left unattended in a vehicle parked at . A 62-year-old Arnold man was issued a summons.

Stealing — At 6:18 p.m., a cordless finishing nailer was reported stolen from .
Stealing — At 7:59 p.m., a worker at Circle K reported that a wallet was stolen from insider her purse by a customer. Security cameras caught the incident and a suspect has been identified, police said.

Driving while intoxicated — At 10:37 p.m., a 40-year-old Arnold man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated near the area of Tenbrook Road and Skyview Court.
Drug possession — A 24-year-old man from Marion, IL, and a 26-year-old man from Makanda, IL, were issued summons for reportedly being in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Friday, August 17
Driving while intoxicated — Six arrests were made during a DWI checkpoint. More details about the arrests were on Patch.
Stealing — At 3:40 a.m., a 53-year-old St. Louis woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from Circle K.
Saturday, August 18
Assault, driving while intoxicated — At 8:45 a.m., a 39-year-old Arnold man was arrested after reportedly threatening to hurt someone with a hammer. He was also stopped in the area of Jeffco Boulevard and Telegraph Road and arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he fled the area of the reported assault, police said.
Driving while intoxicated — A 35-year-old man from Talmage, NE, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated on Drury Lane. Police reported his BAC of .190.
Sunday, August 19
Driving while intoxicated — A 32-year-old Crystal City woman was arrested in the Arnold Commons parking lot on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Stealing — At 1:08 p.m., a 34-year-old Arnold man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from Walmart.
Stealing — At 5:30 p.m., a 22-year-old Imperial man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting $143 in merchandise from Walmart.
