Sleeping Man Surprised by Home Intruder in Arnold

The incident happened on Hillcrest Road last week.

A sleeping Arnold man was surprised in his home last Monday after hearing a loud bang outside the back door.

The incident occurred around 10:50 a.m. on Hillcrest Road, according to a Jefferson County Sheriff's Department report. The bang happened after he ignored a knocking on the front door. When he went to see what caused the noise, the man was greeted by another man standing in his doorway.

An intruder had busted through the backdoor. When he saw the homeowner, the intruder fled away in his red vehicle toward Lonedell Road, the report notes.

Police searched the area for clues to no avail.
