Storm Damage Contractor Fails to Perform Work After Payment

Here's the latest from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

An Arnold resident reported a theft to police after a contractor took payment, but failed to perform any work.

The Lupine Drive resident first contacted the contractor in February in regards to storm damage repair, according to a report from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The resident gave approximately $2,587.62 awarded by the insurance company to the contractor. While the contractor acknowledged they received the payment, they have not completed any work or refunded the resident.

Calls to the contractor were not returned, according to the Sheriff's Office report.
