Suicide at Bock Road House Fire

Autopsy finding is that the Paul E. Link died of a self-inflicted gunshot.

The 48-year-old man found in 2435 Bock Rd. house fire on Monday was a suicide.

Update at 1:10 p.m.: Paul E. Link is the man who died in the fire, the Arnold Police Department said in a news release at about 1 p.m.

The autopsy report, released by the Arnold Police Department, said the man died of a self-inflicted .22 caliber gunshot to the head.

Arnold police officers and Rock Community Fire Protection District firefighters responded to the fire at about 1:30 p.m. on Monday an Arnold Police Department report said.

Firefighters put out the fire with 10 minutes of arrival, said Ron Harder, spokesman for the fire protection district, to the stltoday.com website.

Police and firefighters found the man dead in an upstairs bedroom with a .22 caliber rifle beside him.

Police have declined to identfy the man until his relatives have been notified.

Update at 1:10 p.m: The family has been notified and the Arnold Police Department has provided Paul E. Link's name.

Investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire.
