Savvy Thieves Taking Arnold Air Conditioners During Winter

Possible car thieves damage cars parked along Jeffco Boulevard.

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information. None of it indicates a conviction or guilty plea.

Jan. 8

Stealing Clothing— security, at 2150 Michigan Ave., detained an Arnold woman, 40, for stealing $90 in merchandise. Police released the woman on a court summons and because she had an infant with her.

Jan. 7

Arnold Man Faces Robbery Charges —Arnold police received a phone call from a victim who was robbed at a Jefferson County gas station. The victim followed the robber’s vehicle into Arnold. Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver near the intersection of Londell Road and Pomme Road at about 3:30 a.m. Arnold police charged the man for traffic violations and jailed the man until Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies could charge him with robbery.

Jan. 6

Air Conditioners Stolen from Starling Community, Kathryn Drive—Two Starling Community residents and two Kathryn Drive residents reported the air conditioning units missing from their respective homes. All residents said the units were taken during the night.

Property Damage— A resident, at 1905 Richardson Place Rd., reported damage to her kitchen window screen at about 10:45 p.m.

Two Vehicles’ Windows Smashed, Two GPS Units Stolen— A victim who parked on Jeffco Boulevard reported, at 10:30 p.m., said his vehicle’s windows were smashed and that a $150 GPS unit was missing. Another victim, who parked at the Arnold Bowl at 1140 Jeffco Boulevard, said his truck’s passenger window was smashed and his GPS unit was missing at 12:15 a.m.

Driving While Influenced—Arnold police responded to a 911 phone call and found a vehicle in a ditch in the 3900 block of Jeffco Boulevard at 5:20 a.m. Officers charged the driver, a 21-year-old St. Louis man, with driving while influenced.

Jan. 5

Forgery—A Vogel Road victim said her identification card was used by her 22-year-old sister, in Arnold, to withdraw $150 from a credit union account.

Driving While Influenced, Minor in Possession of Alcohol— A St. Louis man, 18, faces charges of driving while influenced and minor in possession of alcohol after Arnold police stopped him driving in the 3800 block of Jeffco Boulevard at about 1:20 a.m. Police released the man on a court summons.

Driving Without a License—An Arnold man, 32, faces charges of driving without a license after police stopped his vehicle near the intersection of Arnold Tenbrook Road and Tenbrook Road at about 3 a.m. Police released the man on a court summons.

Jan. 4

$1,000 Mitre Saw Stolen—A man, who parked at , at 2201 Michigan Ave., reported a $1,050 DeWalt Sliding Compound Miter Saw and stand missing from his pickup truck.

$25 Purse Stolen at County Health Department—A woman at the , at 1818 Lonedell Rd., reported her purse missing at 12 p.m. The woman said the she placed the purse on the seat beside her chair.

Stealing — Kohl’s Department Store security detained two Imperial women, at about 6:15 p.m., and accused them of stealing. Arnold police charged the 17-year-old and the 18-year-old with the crimes then released them on court summonses.

Forced Entry, Theft— A Lee Drive resident reported damage to her residence’s front door and that jewelry and coins are missing from her home. The woman said the event occurred between 5:30-9:30 p.m.

Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Using a False ID Card — Arnold police officers responded to a call about a disturbance at the , at 22 Arnold Park Mall, at about 12:30 a.m. Police learned a 20-year-old Imperial man, who presented a false Illinois driver’s license to bar employees, created the disturbance. Police charged the man and later released him on a court summons.

Jan. 3

Church Air Conditioning Units Stolen— A employee, at 2120 Starling Airport Road, reported a $3,000 air conditioning unit missing from the outside of the building. The unit was last seen on Jan. 2 at 3 p.m.

Drug Paraphernalia Possession, Obstruction of an Investigation—Arnold police, responding to call about a suspicious people on Jeffco Boulevard at about 12 p.m, charged an an Arnold woman, 19, with drug possession paraphernalia and obstruction of an investigation. Police also charged an Imperial woman, 19, with obstructing an investigation after saying that she owned the paraphrenalia. There are warrants from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Kirkwood Police Department, St. Louis County Police Department and the Arnold Police Department for both women. Police jailed the women until bond was posted.

Driving While Influenced— Arnold police officers detained a Ballwin man, 49, after a traffic stop near the intersection of southbound Interstate 55 and Richardson Road at about 12:30 a.m. The man refused to take a breath test. Police brought the man to the Arnold Police Department, detained him then released him to a sober driver.

Jan. 2

$2,000 in Tools Stolen — A Rosedale Court victim reported $1,980 in tools missing from his unlocked vehicle at about 7:30 a.m.

Vehicle Stereo Stolen — Another Rosedale Court victim reported the stereo dashboard system missing from her vehicle. The estimated loss is $150.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered — Arnold police officers investigated a phone call about people in two vehicles parked on Oye Drive at about 9:45 p.m. The suspects fled in one of the cars and drove north on Jeffco Boulevard. St. Louis County Police stopped the suspects at the intersection of Interstate 255 and Gravois Road. Police said the suspects were in a car reported stolen from Jackson Drive. They arrested the Arnold man, 30, and the St. Louis man, 26, found in the car. The other car, abandoned on Oye Road, was stolen from St. Louis city. Police called the Jackson Drive resident who owned the stolen vehicle.

Vehicle Windows Smashed — Arnold police arrested two people after a woman reported the windows on her vehicle were broken while it was parked on a Jeffco Boulevard Church lot.

Vehicle Windows Smashed Again – Another woman, who also parked her vehicle at a church lot on Jeffco Boulevard, reported her vehicle’s windows broken. She reported a GPS unit and 20 cds missing.

Vehicle Damaged — A man, who parked on a Jeffco Boulevard church parking lot, reported damage to his vehicle’s steering column and its ignition system.

Dashboard Stereo Stolen — Another person who parked on a Jeffco Boulevard Church parking lot also reported his vehicle windows smashed. The man reported the stereo system missing.

Fraud, Stealing — A Meyer Drury woman reported that someone had used her Walmart gift card and child support card from her stolen wallet.
