Arnold City Hall Taking Ward 2 Council Seat Applications

Qualified residents interested in filling the vacant seat until April's election should submit their résumés to Arnold City Hall.

Arnold Ward 2 only has one, instead of two councilmen, sitting on the city council.

Councilman Jim Edwards' council seat became vacant when he succumbed to stroke complications two weeks ago. He served Arnold as an elected representative of Ward 2 for more than five terms.

Anyone residing in Ward 2 interested in filling Edwards' unfinished term should send a résumé to Mayor Ron Counts at mayorroncounts@arnoldmo.org or mail a résumé to at 2101 Jeffco Boulevard.

Interested applicants should act soon, Ward 2 Councilman Bill Moritz said, because Mayor Counts wants to an appointee to be able to attend one of the three council meetings in October.

The appointed person will need to campaign for the April 2012 election to retain the seat and begin a two-year term ending on 2014.
