Arnold Construction Progress

A snapshot of a construction project in Arnold foretells the coming business on Richardson Road.

In July, ArnoldPatch posted a few photos of construction sites around the City of Arnold. Over the next few days we will publish new photos of the construction sites and the new businesses that have opened this year or will open in 2012.

The pictures above show contractors building a new car service station business, Express Mart, that will open at 1919 Richardson Rd. No formal ribbon cutting date for the business owners has been given.

The following photos show the Phillips 66 gas station that was formerly on the site.

Arnold recieved business license applications for 25 new businesses this year, said Ward 2 Councilman Bill Moritz in an Oct. 21 email to voters.

The city processed nearly 300 out of town business licenses, he said.

"Things continue to look up (for Arnold)," Moritz wrote in the email.

Arnold's coffers recieved a 5 percent increase in sales tax revenues in 2011, said Mayor Ron Counts during the City Council meeting at City Hall, 2101 Jeffco Blvd., on Dec. 15.

"It's been a good year in the City of Arnold," Counts said.
