Arnold Police Offering Prescription Drug Drop-off Day

Residents can drop off old or unwanted prescription drugs, no questions asked, at Arnold City Hall on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Arnold Police Department is offering to help residents dispose of old and unwanted medicines on Saturday.

The police and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will accept any medicines, without question, left at the at 2101 Jeffco Blvd., between 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

"The entire idea behind this is to keep these drugs from polluting ground water and water treatment systems," Ward 2 Councilman Bill Moritz said in an email to constituents.

Over-the-counter, prescription, heart, pain and other medicines will be accepted.

In the past, the event is as been especially helpful to older residents who want to safely dispose of their expired and unused medications.

Law enforcement officers will incinerate the medications to eliminate the chance that anyone will find the medications and use them.

  • Pevely Police Department, 401 Main Street, Pevely, MO
  • Herculaneum Police Department, 200 Riverview Dr., Herculaneum, MO
  • Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, 34 Dillon Plaza, High Ridge, MO
  • North Jefferson County Ambulance District, 2820 Horrell Lane, High Ridge, MO
