Arnold Residents' Opinions on Matt Unrein?

The Arnold City Administrator resigned, for personal reasons, on Thursday, June 28.

In the profile article, Unrein said he enjoyed the opportunity to help people.

Unrein treated this journalist at arm's length in the beginning in 2011 but realized he needed to talk to the press to accomplish anything in Arnold.

He discussed Arnold's red-light ordinance, the possible closing of , and the city sewer systems with ArnoldPatch.

During City Council meetings at  criticism for the handling of red-light ticket bills and the enforcement of the city's new contractor license ordinance, to name a couple of items.

While this editor prefers to refrain from "kicking a downed person," Patch thought it would allow the readers to voice their opinion of the former city administrator and his time with Arnold.

Mr. Theodorakos, I have been actively exposing the corruption and back-room dealings of the City of Arnold since 2005. I have tracked thousands of dollars in campaign funds coming into Arnold from North Carolina and Texas to keep certain people in office or put them back in office when they have been ousted. I have long said if the amount of corruption is this bad at this level of government, you can only imagine how bad it is when you work your way up to the federal level. I don't mind sharing the information along with the paperwork to back it all up! One of our elected officials has a former business partner that was paid almost $300,000 for a $40,000 piece of property, no biggie, just your tax dollars at work for their friends....

Really the police Chief is acting city administrator, he can't do his job. Look at all the speeders in our neighborhoods, cars parked on lawn everyday and weekends, drunks on the road. The only speed traps are on I55 because to stae pays them to do it. Please!!!!

I moved here from the east coast twelve years ago. I found this town to be a quaint little Mid West town with wonderful residents, caring and friendly, always ready to lend a hand, very informed and aware of their local goverment. Back then the people I encountered every day were proud of their town and its values. I remember telling folks back home how great this city was and that I was at peace here. Unfortunatly I no longer feel that way. I now watch the local politics here play out on social media outlets and print like it was a soap opera (mini Dallas). This town has run it self down the same corrupt, self serving path that I moved away from. Most local politicians, not all, run for office with only a personal vendetta as their cause. I implore the current council to take a step back this 4th of July and look at what the educated voter sees. Although I speak for myself here, I think any honest soul would see a constant family fued that only makes headlines when they are embarasing themselves and dragging this great towns reputation down with them. If we could switch this council with the origanal signers of the Declaration of Independence i'm not sure that great document would ever have seen the light of day! You don't all need to get along to accomplish the will of the people. Politics is after all comprimise for the betterment of the populas. You would be wise to realize that the reason you are in office is because of the will of the people. Don't lose sight of that.

good for you...it is always worthwhile to have someone who cares......unlike me ...who has just given up......like I said.....look what goes on in arnold.....the federal government is rife with it...in fact, it is the norm not the exception....and the reality is....there is nothing we can do about it.....except vote them out of office...but that also is a pipe dream....
