Arnold Will Begin Search for City Administrator in September
Robert Shockey, Arnold's Chief of Police, has been serving as the Interim City Administrator since Unrein's departure in June.
Arnold City Administrator Matt Unrein resigned due to undisclosed "personal issues" back in June 2012. Chief of Police Robert Shockey has been acting as the interim administrator for the city, holding down both his and Unrein's jobs.
In June, Mayor Ron Counts told the press that they would wait and see about replacing Unreins, admiting that it would be less expensive for the city to have one man do both jobs.
The Leader reported that Shockey earns $92,123, plus benefits, as chief, and that the mayor said they would "bump him up somewhat" for taking on the second job.
