Superior Oil Gets Approval to Move St. Louis Operations to Arnold
Superior Oil, a resins manufacturer, is expanding its MIssouri operations but would not say how many people it would hire.
Superior Oil is moving its St. Louis-based operations from Choteau Street to Arnold's Cliff Drive.
Asked why the company picked Arnold, Steve Wakefield, vice president of operations for Superior Oil said the city’s access to rail lines would help business operations.
“Business is growing and we hope to expand and hire employees,” he said. “We are just landlocked by the floodwalls at our current location.”

Superior Oil will build a 22,000 square foot warehouse, with 2,000 square feet of office space and new rail siding for shipping. Wakefield said the company will spend $4 million on the site.
Wakefield said Superior Oil is an old company name but the business does not handle gas and oil products.
He did not say how many employees could be hired. Thirteen people work at the St. Louis location.
Superior Oil is headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, has 11 business locations in the U.S. with second Missouri location in Springfield, the company website said.
City Treasurer Dan Kroupa praised Wakefield for the company’s environmental record.
The council met at City Hall, 2101 Jeffco Blvd, on Thursday June 7.
