Computer Error Sends Red-Light Camera Ticket Letter to Some Residents

A small group of people who have paid their Arnold red-light camera fines have mistakenly received letters saying their bills are past due.

A computer glitch at American Traffic Solutions, the company that makes Arnold's red-light cameras and collects the related fines, mistakenly sent letters to people who already paid their fines, said a City of Arnold news release.

"The City and ATS apologize for any inconvenience this computer error may have caused," the Arnold news release said.

ATS sends the letters in the name of The City of Arnold and may sent the letters to people who paid their fines in 2005.

People who incorrectly received the past due letter will receive another letter saying the ticket has been paid and to disregard the past due payment request.

Arnold's contract with ATS requires the company to make every effort to collect the fines on all red-light camera tickets issued.

People who have unpaid red-light camera tickets can pay their fines through theΒ  the ATS website, the City of Arnold website or in person at Arnold City Hall.
