Gov. Nixon Reappoints Festus Resident to State Board

Kerry Messer, of Festus, is among the 17 people the governor appointed to eight state boards on Friday.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon reappointed Kerry Messer of Festus, to the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board.

The Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board performs independent reviews of child abuse and neglect decision in certain cases, a news release said.  

Messer has served as president of the Missouri Family Network for 26 years and serves on the executive board of the Missouri Baptist Convention.

Messer is both a minister and a cattle producer, the news release said.

Messer was appointed to the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board in October 2007.  Gov. Nixon has reappointed him for a term ending April 7, 2013.
