I-55 Widened in Jefferson County, MoDOT Celebration on Friday

Two lanes added—one southbound, one northbound—to Interstate 55 between routes M and Z.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will open the third lane of northbound and southbound Interstate 55 in Jefferson County with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

The event will occur at the old weigh scale location south of the interchange of I-55 and Route M on Metropolitan Boulevard.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funded the project to add two lanes on Interstate 55 between Route M and Route Z. This project will ease congestion and improve safety.
