Arnold Mayor Ron Counts Announces Bid for Re-Election

Ron Counts made the announcement at a city council meeting Thursday.

Arnold Mayor Ron Counts said he would run for re-election in April at Thursday's city council meeting.

"Some four years ago, I gave serious considerations as to how I may contribute to the community in which I live. After discussion with friends and family, then time in prayer, I decided to run for mayor," he said in a press release handed out before the meeting.

"The fine citizens of Arnold supported me as I have since supported them, by leading the way to a balanced budget, helping to bring new jobs to our city and unity among city leaders," he said.

Counts was first elected mayor in April 2009. He has been the owner of Counts Auto Body in Arnold for more than 37 years.

Counts has also served on the Fox C-6 School Board (1993-2001) and on the Rock Township Ambulance Board of directors as Treasurer.

...and I am aware you've had an uphill battle with big mouth Borgelt on the Council and that's not because of her disagreements with all of you, it's because she spends so much time bad mouthing all of you all over the internet. I never thought I'd say this, but the Leader actually had it right for once about big mouth Borgelt.

Linda, I am so happy to see you here! Now even more people will have the opportunity to see you make a fool of yourself. If your posts here are anything like your others, this should be real entertaining :)

Doris, I am not getting into any verbal discussions or disagreements with you or anyone else in our city. I just have a problem with officials who cannot let "water run off their backs", and feel they must retaliate to any comments made for or against them. I always felt that people must spend time doing their jobs and not complaining about this or that. If they have the luxury of extra time to comment to their critics, they must be either retired or spending some time recklessly when there are more important issues that need our representatives attention.. This is not directed at you, but anyone who needs it. Just wanted to get my 2 cents in.... Thank you for reading and listening.....

Responding to lies or inaccuracies is not retaliation, it is called setting the record straight. You never know who might actually believe the tripe put out by the above referenced posters. This is the United States of America, people are allowed to spend their time as they please, it is called leisure time. I know of no one who is either required or expected to work 24/7, that is a bit unrealistic, wouldn't you agree?
