Politico Reports Missouri Delegates Support Akin

The GOP delegates spoke after a breakfast at the Republican National Convention.

Although the official start of the GOP convention in Tampa, FL, was pushed back due to concerns over Tropical Storm Isaac, many events went on as scheduled.

One of those events was a breakfast for Missouri delegates, who expressed anger at presidential nominee Mitt Romney's comments on the Todd Akin "" bruhaha.

Romney called on for the good of the party.

According to Politico, many delegates argued that Akin could still win the race, pushing back against the notion that his remarks were a death blow to his Senate candidacy.

Quoting from Politico:

"Several delegates here in Tampa seemed angry at the national party, saying the decision to withhold millions of dollars in campaign funding is the real impediment in their effort to oust Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill in November."

The story also noted several delegates sported "Akin for Senate" buttons. It is worth noting that the delegates quoted in the Politico story are from outstate Missouri, including Fulton and Carthage. No St. Louis-area delegates were mentioned.

For his part, Akin maintains he is still in this race. He released a new campaign ad today and told Charlie Brennan on KMOX this morning that he was undeterred by recent polling that puts Sen. Claire McCaskill ahead in the race for the U.S. Senate seat.

Liberal moonbats are so clueless on what Barack Obama is doing that they will lite candles before bedtime and kiss his faded poster on the wall. http://weaselzippers.us/2012/09/01/poll-number-of-americans-who-consider-themselves-republicans-hits-record-high/

Please, spare us the "moonbats" nonsense. Do you even know what that is? Can you define it, or show us one? Simply regurgitating the babble of Rush or whatever right-wing anti-thought leader you follow isn't good enough. Your psychological projections about "kiss[ing]" a poster are telling too. There's always help not far away. And it's "light" candles. Thinking and writing clearly does matter. Even to and for Republicans.

Jim Aspen, from Ames lol. Why you wasting your time on Missouri politics? Why don't you spread your, propagand in your own state.?

Tater Salad -what part of Missouri is Plymouth-Canton? And why do you guys care about spreading the message (or whatever it's called) on the St. Louis Patch. I think we are getting a dose of how crazy the tea party is. Their hatred of Obama knows no bounds. Seems rather illogical.
