One Tamarack Drive resident opposed the barrier at first, Moritz said, then the man realized the lower levels of traffic in the Tamarack Drive neighborhood.

"He thanked the city for doing this (placing the barriers)," Moritz said.

Theodore Ridge residents spent more than six years to slow traffic moving through the 70-house subdivision and eliminate vandalism in the neighborhood, Moritz said.

In one incident a vehicle sped around the corner of a home, instead of around the street, and almost struck a child, Moritz said.
