Weekend MoDOT Interstate Closures Beginning on June 24

MoDOT to Close three lanes of Interstate 55 at Union Road overnight for Bridge Painting

Missouri Department of Transportation contractors will close three lanes on northbound and southbound Interstate 55 tonight, June 23, for bridge painting, weather permitting.

Only the right lane in each direction will be open overnight. Painting will occur on the new Union Road bridge built in November 2010.

The following lane closures will occur tonight:

• Northbound I-55 between Reavis Barracks Road and the Union Road bridge from 10:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Friday.
• Southbound I-55 from Bayless Avenue to the Union Road bridge from 11:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday.

Crews will also close the right lanes on the westbound Poplar Street Bridge from 8 p.m. on Friday until 3 a.m. on Monday for bridge repairs, weather permitting.

MoDOT Closes Lanes on Westbound Poplar Street Bridge for MLB Weekend Games

MoDOT will close the two right lanes on westbound Poplar Street Bridge in downtown St. Louis at 8 p.m. on Friday. The closures will help motorists heading to the St. Louis Cardinal ballgames this weekend. 

One right lane will close a few hours prior to game-times, MoDOT said in a news release.

Two right lanes will close after the ballgames begin.

MoDOT urges motorists to use the following alternate routes to get into the city: Interstate 255, the Eads, McKinley or Martin Luther King bridges.

I-270 Lane Closures in South County 

In South St. Louis County this weekend, weather permitting, MoDOT crews will close lanes on Interstate 270 near Interstate 44.

The two left northbound lanes will close at 8 p.m. on Friday.

Early Saturday, crews will open those left lanes and close two right lanes until noon Sunday.

Crews will also close the entrance ramp from Route 30 to I-270 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

When this work is complete, northbound I-270 will have four straight lanes.
