Who will be Arnold's Mayor Pro Tempore

The election of a new city council means councilmen have to choose a Mayor Pro Tem.

As part of Thursday night's city council meeting, Arnold councilmen will need to choose whether to keep Ward 2 Councilman Bill Moritz as Mayor Pro Tempore or select a new one.

Also known as Mayor Pro Tem, the position is selected from current elected councilmen and the person chosen fulfills the mayor's duties during temporary absences, such as a holiday vacation.

The Mayor Pro Tem will preside over city council meetings, has the tie breaking vote when needed, and can sign ordinances into law.
