Why The Low Voter Turnout for Tuesday's Election in Jefferson County?

One Patch reader thought we should ask the question, so we are. Share your thoughts on the low turnout for Tuesday's election by clicking on the 'comment' button below.

According to the Jefferson County Clerk's website, voter turnout for the April 3 election was 8.35 percent, with 12,085 ballots cast.

Based on this low turnout, one Patch reader asked why people did not get out and vote. Great question! Here at Patch we're always encouraging readers to post comments and we'd love to hear from some readers on this topic.
