Arnold College Student to Take the Stage in 'West Side Story'

Kala Zurbriggen, a senior majoring in music performance at Missouri Baptist College, will perform in the classic musical.

Kala Zurbriggen, of Arnold, will take the stage for Missouri Baptist University's (MBU) Fine Arts performance of West Side Story Nov. 8 through 11. Zurbriggen is a senior majoring in music performance.

MBU's production of West Side Story features two lovers caught in the middle of a feud between rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks. The classic musical is based on the story of Romeo and Juliet with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and conception and choreography by Jerome Robbins.

The shows run Nov. 8 to 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Pillsbury Chapel and Dale Williams Fine Arts Center, located a quarter mile from the intersection of highways 40 and 270. For more information or to buy tickets, please call the MBU Box Office at (314) 392-2345.
