Jefferson County Housing Task Force Foreclosure Prevention and Financial Resource Fair

The Jefferson County Housing Task Force is pleased to announce its third Foreclosure Prevention and Financial Resource Fair for those who are facing financial hardship, concerned about not being able to make their next mortgage payment, or simply wanting to improve their financial health. This free event is open to the public.  The last fair, held February 4th, assisted over sixty local homeowners.

The fair will be attended by major mortgage loan servicers who are yet to be announced. ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions, Beyond Housing and United Way will also be present to discuss financial challenges with homeowners.  The event will be held Saturday, August 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the DeSoto Community Center at 400 Boyd St. DeSoto, MO 63020. No registration is required.

Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-approved housing counselors will be available for one-on-one sessions to discuss mortgage and credit concerns. The fair will also connect attendees to representatives from a local realtor and short-sale expert, title company and attorney for no sales-based free advice. These representatives will take questions from homeowners in order to assist them in choosing options that best fit their needs.
