Five Arnold Residents Graduate from Missouri S & T
One doctoral and four bachelors degree student graduated in December 2011.
Five college students from Arnold joined more than 450 Missouri University of Science and Technology candidates during the commencement ceremony held in campus' the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building on Dec. 19, 2011.
Arnold's graduates are:
- Charles Austin Hasseldiek who earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering management.
- Benjamin Robert McKinley who earned a bachelor of science degree in architectural engineering.
- Andrew Lee Meintz who earned a doctoral degree in electrical engineering .
- Annalise Rose Pfaff who earned a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry summa cum laude.
- Roger Merrill Rettig IV who earned a bachelor of science degree in metallurgical engineering summa cum laude.
The university recognizes summa cum laude graduates to students who have earned a cumulative grade point (GPA) of 3.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses counting toward the degree. Magna cum laude is for graduates with a GPA of 3.5 to 3.79, and cum laude indicates a GPA of 3.2 to 3.49.
