No Policy in Place Regarding Nepotism, Fox School Official Says

The school board president's daughter-in-law was hired as the district's food service director with a $65,000-a-year salary, FOX 2 reported on Friday.

Did politics play a role when the Fox School District's Board of Education voted to hire Linda Nash's daughter-in-law for the district's $65,000 director of food services position?

Todd Scott, a spokesperson with the district's human resources department, told Patch the district does not have any policies in effect regarding nepotism. He said the district employs many relatives of employees or elected officials.

"The issue usually only comes up when the board is involved," Scott said. "We're proud of the fact that we hire local people. We have hired a lot of moms of employees and students and several graduates."
