Seckman Jaguars "Fear the Spear" During First Football Game, Fox Warriors Win 32 to 13

Fox defeated their sister school on Seckman home turf during the first varsity football game of the season.

The stands were full at Friday night’s game between Fox and Seckman high schools. Cars filled the high school parking lot, the middle school parking lot and also the middle school soccer field.

Seckman took the lead with 11:35 seconds on the clock. #45 Zack Martin ran the ball 25 yards on a fumbled return to score the first touchdown of the game and the year. #17 Danny Hughey made the conversion kick, opening the score at 0 to 7 for the home team.

Fox answered with a 22 yard run by #33 Greg Abeyta later in the first quarter, bringing the score to 6 to 7.

Unfortunately Kraus’ lightning run would be the last for Seckman. With just 16 seconds left on the clock and the marching band ready to take the field for halftime, Fox’s #20 Jake Pendergrass caught a 15 yard pass thrown by quarterback #5 Tyler Thompson, then brought it home for a touchdown. #16 Jacob Graham made the kick, bring the score to 19 to 13.

One touchdown was made in the third quarter by Fox’s #4 Daylon Harper after a 5 yard run, and again #16 Jacob Graham made the kick, bringing the score to 26 to 13.

The final touchdown of the evening was in the fourth quarter. Fox’s #22 Jimmy Huskey nailed his second touchdown after a 61 yard run, bringing the final score to 32 to 13.

Lineman #74 Calandro Nikko from Seckman was injured during the first half of the game and after halftime reappeared on the sidelines with his leg in a split. No word from Seckman on the nature of his injury at this time.
