Second Teacher Assault Reported at Rockport Heights Elementary

Fox School District Superintendent Dianne Critchlow says she believes one student, who is struggling, was responsible for both incidents.

A second teacher assault has been reported at Rockport Heights Elementary School.

On Tuesday April 30, an 11-year-old boy assaulted his teacher while in class according to an incident report from the Arnold Police Department. The student was taken to the police station by the school resource officer, where he was turned over to a juvenile officer.

The first assault happened on Wednesday, April 10, according to another police incident report. The teacher told police she was assaulted by a 10-year-old boy at school. The juvenile was taken into custody and later released to his parents. The case was then forwarded to the Juvenile Division.

Fox Superintendent Dianne Critchlow tells Patch she believes the same student was responsible for both assaults. She said the child may have had a birthday between the reports or that the age of the child was reported wrong by police.

"The child is struggling," Critchlow said. "We are working with him, and I know his parents are working with him and the school."

Critchlow said she did not know if the same teacher was assaulted in the incidents or if it was a teacher or teacher's aide. She added that she did not know what kind of assaults occurred.
