Ladies and gentlemen, start your hamsters. Petco is hosting a hamster ball derby Saturday afternoon, pitting rodent against rodent in a race for the finish line. Pet gerbils, mice and rats may also participate, but nothing exotic. There will be prizes for the winning creatures.
Arrive early to register, starting at 1:30 p.m., and get those little legs warmed up with a few practice rounds.
