Free Air Conditioners for Jefferson County Seniors

Jefferson County Community Partnership will provide 30 units at the end of the week.

Jefferson County residents ages 65 years or older, who meet low income standards, are eligible to receive a free air conditioner from the Jefferson County Community Partnership, a nonprofit organization. 

Hammers of Hope, a JCCP program, will offer free Frigidaire air conditioners with a 5,000 BTU capability, said Community Coordinator Dennis Murphy in a email.

The organization will have 30 units by the end of the week.

Grant money will purchase the units and Lowes will sell the units to the nonprofit at cost price. 

The units will be delivered and installed by Hammers of Hope volunteers on a first come, first served basis.

People can apply via the Jefferson County Community Partnership website or 636-464-5144, extension 15.

Volunteers interested in serving as a volunteer to deliver and install the units should call Dennis Murphy 636-464-5144, extension 15.
