Volunteers Needed for Jefferson County Animal Control

Training classes on Saturday will help people deal with all varieties of animals found at the shelter.

The Jefferson County Animal Control will have a volunteer training session 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Parkton Assembly of God Church's Fellowship Hall.

The classroom training session will occur at 1670 Old Hwy M in Barnhart, then volunteers will receive hands-on training at the shelter at 7105 Shelter Rd., Barnhart, according to a posting on the ArnoldPatch Facebook account.

Participants will have time to grab lunch between the two sessions. Water, lemonade and coffee will be provided during the session.

Volunteers should remember to wear clothing and shoes for meeting greeting dogs and puppies of all sizes.

Organizers will will demonstrate shelter cleaning, so participants should know that they may become dirty.

The shelter needs volunteers from 9 a.m.-noon or 1-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Some flexibility of times is available. Please ask!

Volunteers are ESPECIALLY NEEDED on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.
