My husband and I were there for a while yesterday, but unfortunately had to leave by 10:30 becauseRead More of previous commitments. I would personally like to thank those who did come out and help. They were Brooke from Bayshore, Pat Jeffreys, John and Pat Hargraves, Cody Laws and Charles Huey. I spoke with Mr. Mueller this morning and the others worked until a little after 12 because of the heat and humidity. We made a pretty good dent in the double wall, but there's still plenty of work to do. The other house threatened by the flood waters also has sand bags still in their backyard. I'm trying to organize an effort to continue the removal of the sand bags for next Saturday, September 14th at 9:00 am, depending on rain. Whether you have an hour or four, please make an effort to come out to help a neighbor in need. Please respond to this post or email me (hohmeierward2@gmail.com) so we can get an idea of how many will be coming. Make sure to bring gloves and wheelbarrows if you have one. Since Pat Hargraves and Cody Laws both go to Seckman, how about a friendly competition between the two high schools to see who can bring the most help? :) Veterans - one of your own is in need of assistance. Please come and show your support. Joanne is right - many hands make light work!!! Let's show that Arnold has a spirit of community!

Have you started having business hrs when someone can come and adopt a pet. I hope so. I know itRead More used to be you were only open a few hrs during the week (during normal work hrs for potential adoptees) and not open any weekend days when people could come adopt one. No wonder there is an over crowding problem.

I vote for Hammers of Hope & Jefferson County Disabilitie Resources, both organizations help theRead More disabled and seniors in need. It's amazing how many people volunteer to help people in need and how hard all these people work!

If you have ever seen this shelter you would be saddened. Very unfriendly staff . My impressionRead More after being there 5 TIMES is that something is just not right. They euthenize every thursday and often have the gates to the property are locked during adoption hours. They could care less about these animals.I have walked in and around that gate on several occassions and they definitely do not seem happy to do go through the adoption process. THESE ANIMALS HAVE LITTLE HOPE OF COMING OUT ALIVE. CHECK IT OUT. EVEN THEIR WEBSITE has minimal photos. THIS PRIVATELY OWNED SHELTER GETS MORE MONEY SELLING DEAD ANIMALS TO RESEARCH FACILITIES. THESE sweet animals SPEND THEIR LAST DAYS HERE WITH ILLNESS. All I have adopted have been sick. Shelter has come under scrutiny in the past few years so this is their feeble attempt to make things look "better". They have had issues with employees and narcotics not given during euthanasia and unethical veteranarian care.NEED I SAY MORE .IT is a privately owned sick moneymaker. SHUT IT DOWN.
