The Grantwood Village eatery took the top slot in this week's Food Fight poll.
Sam's Steakhouse in Grantwood Village was this week's winner of the South County/Arnold Food Fight, in which we asked Patch users for their favorite steakhouse. It won with 33 percent of the votes cast in our weekly Food Fight poll. Coming in second? Texas Roadhouse in Arnold, with 29 percent of the vote. Tucker's Place in Mehlville cooked up a third-place finish with 20 percent, followed by Jilly's Cafe and Steakhouse in High Ridge with 15 percent and Joe Clark's Restaurant in Fenton with less than a percent. We've gotten a number of nominations this week; now vote for what's tops in grilled meat.
It's time to vote now in the second phase of this week's South County/Arnold Food Fight. You've given us your nominations. Now, it's time to vote from among the finalists. Where do you think is the best place to get a steak in South County or Arnold? A note about this friendly competition, first. We got a ton of email nominations for 1904 Steak House in Lemay at the River City Casino. And we're grateful. We're certain that many of our readers head there for a good hearty steak. The south county bar and grill took honors in this week's friendly food competition, asking Patch readers for their favorite breakfast nooks.
Some Other Place Bar & Grill in South County was this week's winner of the South County/Arnold Food Fight, in which we asked Patch users for their favorite breakfast restaurant. It won with 37 percent of the votes cast in our weekly Food Fight poll. Coming in second? Cracker Barrel—with multiple locations, including Mehlville and Fenton—took second place with 20 percent of the vote. The other sizable vote-getters were Gingham's in Mehlville and First Watch in Oakville with 11 and 9 percent of the votes, respectively. All the other finalists got fewer than 6 percent of the votes. They included: Bob Evans in Affton; Blue Owl in Kimmswick; Denny's in Arnold; T.J.'s Diner in Affton; and Waffle House with multiple locations in South County. …

None of the Chinese carry-out places could serve up a majority of the vote. Sesame Chinese in Sunset Hills was the No. 2 vote-getter.
Lemay Wok in Mehlville is the winner in this week's South County Food Fight, in which we asked Patch readers for their favorite restaurant for Chinese takeout. But this week's competition shows that there's no runaway favorite. Lemay Wok captured the largest share of the votes at 27 percent, but far from a majority among the finalists in our friendly food competition. The next biggest vote-getter was Sesame China in Sunset Hills with 17 percent. Here's how the votes were split (may not equal 100 percent due to rounding).
