Arctic Temperatures, Not Snow Threaten The Area

The blizzard of 2011 missed Arnold, and most of the St. Louis region, when snow clouds remained north of the city.

Although the blizzard and heavy snowfall missed the City of Arnold, National Weather Service forecasters expect below freezing temperatures and 35 mph wind gusts to threaten the area. Less than in inch of snow is expected in Arnold today but the daytime high temperature will be about 20 degrees, the NWS website said. Wind gusts between 30 to 40 mph will create wind chill factors as low as 20 degrees below zero tonight. The weather left Arnold roads slick due to a coating of ice and densely packed snow.  All the interstate roads are covered in ice and snow, the MoDOT Traveler Information Map reports.
