Weird Crime: Thief Steals Van That Needs Tires, Gas

A roundup of recent unusual and odd crimes in the St. Louis area.

Stolen Van Needed Gas, Tires A Ferguson man is facing criminal charges for stealing a van that not only needed gas, but apparently tires as well. He also was charged with stealing eight tires from Dobbs Tire and Auto. Florissant police said the man stole a 1994 GMC conversion van from a Johnny Londoff Chevrolet lot sometime between July 29 and Aug. 1. The van belonged to an employee at the car dealership. Police said man also broke into Dobbs Tire and Auto, and stole eight tires valued at $1,593. He was identified through surveillance tapes at Dobbs and at a QuikTrip gas station where he bought gas for the van, according to court documents. Crime Report: Death Threat Reported at a Fox District School

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information from Nov. 14-20.

Nov. 14 Robbery — A person reported his Gucci wallet, containing $440 cash and a Missouri unemployment access card, was stolen from a table in the Subway restaurant at 2201 Michigan Ave. Assault — A 16-year-old punched another juvenile during a fight at Fox Senior High School. The subject was arrested and released to a parent. Shoplifting — Store security at Schnucks apprehended a 38-year-old woman from Imperial for shoplifting. The woman was issued a summons and released from custody at the scene. Nov. 15 Theft — A Walmart employee reported the theft of a 42-inch LG television from the store,  valued at $898. The suspects were identified as 22- and 25-year-old white males from Imperial. The employee said the theft happened on Nov. 13. …

9-Year-Old Girl Found Wandering Berrywood Court, DFS Called

Copper stolen from home, numerous drug possession charges in Arnold Police Department crime report for Sept. 26 to Oct. 2

The Arnold Police Department provided the following information. None of it indicates a conviction or guilty plea. Oct. 2 Stealing at a Grocery — Schnucks store security, at 3900 Vogel Rd., detained an Imperial woman, 40, for shoplifting. Police booked the suspect and released her on a pending arrest warrant. Shoplifting — Walmart store security, at 2201 Michigan Ave., detained a De Soto woman, 28, for shoplifting charges. Police released the suspect at the scene. Drug Possession — Arnold police charged an Arnold man, 21, with heroin and drug paraphernalia possession during a traffic stop near the intersection of Vogel Road and Depot Road 3:43 p.m. Oct. 1 Stolen Power Drills — A Starling Community victim reported that an air compressor …
