According to investigators, one driver was killed early Friday morning when another driver tried to change lanes in the I-270 expansion project work zone between Manchester Road and Highway 44. (Read Previous Story: Fatal Crash in MoDOT I-270 Work Zone) MoDOT officials said drivers should expect shifting and narrowed lanes, nighttime lane closures and complete road closures during the road construction season. MoDOT Crews will continue bridge repairs during lower traffic days.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close two of the four southbound lanes on Interstate 270 this weekend. Longer Traffic Delays at I-270, I-44 Construction Area

MoDOT suggests drivers use Lindbergh Road as a detour from I-44 to southbound I-270.

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) engineers noticed longer delays at the Interstate 270 and Interstate 44 interchange in South County since the I-270 bridge project began this summer. Since Saturday, engineers noticed a doubling of travel times along the I-44 exit ramps to southbound I-270 during the evening commute. MoDOT suggests drivers use Lindbergh Boulevard instead of the I-44 exit ramps to get onto I-270. Motorists should exit from I-44 at Lindbergh Boulevard, head south to Gravois Road and then merge onto southbound I-270, said MoDOT South County Area Engineer Kristy Yates in a news release. "This signed detour can help motorists avoid the work zones on southbound I-270 entirely," Yates said. MoDOT expects crews will …
