The Barnhart woman faces child abuse charges after an investigation showed that she punched her daughter, police say.
A Barnhart woman is facing child abuse charges following an incident on Feb. 16. Amy Jordan, who lives at 1741 Dandridge Lane, is accused of punching her 3-year-old daughter, Jefferson County Sheriff's Department police state in court documents. An investigation by a state worker revealed that Jordan caused a large bruise underneath her daughter's left eye, the documents note. Jordan, 29, faces child abuse charges fom the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office stemming from the incident. Child abuse is a class C felony. David T. Fortner is accused of grabbing his wife's face, pulling her hair and pushing her head against a headboard, police say. He also had more than 70 grams of marijuana.
An Arnold man is facing charges stemming from a Nov. 12 domestic dispute with his wife at their apartment in the 1300 block of Riverdale Dr. David T. Fortner, 54, has been charged with third-degree domestic assault and possession of a controlled substance by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Fortner's wife told Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies that he grabbed her face, squeezed her cheeks, pulled her hair and pushed her head against the headboard of a bed, court documents state. A witness at the scene told deputies she saw Fortner place a bag of marijuana in the kitchen trash can, the documents state. A 24-year-old Oakville man is facing a charge after his Arnold girlfriend told Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies that he grabbed, punched and bit her. Justin Bryan, of the 5300 block of Kingscreek Court, has been charged with third-degree domestic assault by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in the Feb. 28 incident. The woman told deputies she and Bryan got into a verbal argument at her Arnold home, and that he had become very angry, according to court documents. He then grabbed her by the arms, punched her in the arm and bit her right wrist. The woman said she told Bryan to stop, but he just laughed at her, the documents state. Brendan Loyd was allegedly in the process of burglarizing an Imperial residence when the victim came home, discovered him inside and called police. Loyd fled from deputies at the scene.
A 19-year-old Imperial man is facing felony charges in connection with an Imperial home burglary, which was foiled by the homeowner. Brendan Loyd, of the 5200 block of Seckman Springs, recently was charged with first-degree burglary and resisting arrest by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. The incident happened on Jan. 27, 2012. Loyd was allegedly in the process of breaking into a home in the 5200 block of Benck Road when the victim came home, discovered him inside and called police, according to court documents. Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies arrived, and Loyd fled from them on foot. The deputies found him hiding in bushes. Loyd told officers he entered the home by breaking a window with a hammer.
