Seckman's Rodgers Has Amazing Baseball Week

Fox girls soccer has won three consecutive games.

The spring season has not begun for all area teams, especially those that had spring break last week, but there were some memorable first week performances for several area athletes. Mehlville scored six times in the fifth inning to defeat rival Oakville 8-1 Tuesday. The Panthers pounded out 13 hits in the game with five different players (Chris Janssen, Austin Kretzer, Austin Simokaitis, Dylan Okenfuss and Matt Regan) having two each. Janssen went the distance on the mound for the Panthers. He gave up 10 hits, including three by Greg Gralike, but did not walk anyone. Seckman, Fox Players Competing in SLU Summer Baseball Classic

The Rawlings Tigers and Jefferson County Blazers are playing in this elite summer tournament at Saint Louis University.

SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY—After enduring a rainy Thursday that led to several games being postponed and then a mad scramble on Friday, the Saturday pool play action at the Pastime Inc. SLU Summer Baseball Classic proved to be some of the best in-town baseball of the summer. On Friday teams were unsure who where they were supposed to play, but everything was in full motion for Saturday with more than 30 games being played at multiple locations. This included both fields at Edwardsville (IL) High, and the varsity field at Granite City (IL) High, SIU-Edwardsville and Meramec Community College.
