Seven people, including two Barnhart girls, sustained moderate injuries and a trip to St. Anthony's Medical Center following a two-car crash at about 10:25 p.m. Saturday, according to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP). The Imperial man faces charges including driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
An Imperial man faces his fourth DWI charge after a Missouri State Highway Patrol officer found the man's crashed car on the side of Old Antonia Road. Scott Alan Draper, 41, of the 2100 block of Devonshire Drive, was charged on April 22 with driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest. The charges stem from an incident around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 20. Police arrived to Old Antonia Road for a vehicle accident. The driver wasn't present, so an officer ran a check on the vehicle to identify the owner. The car belonged to Draper, who lived near the accident, according to a court document. A sobriety checkpoint will happen in Jefferson County sometime this month. The Missouri State Highway Patrol made the announcement in a news release. Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C in Weldon Spring, stated that the highway patrol will work with local law enforcement agencies in conducting the checkpoint. The exact date and time of the checkpoint isn't available to the public. An Arnold man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries when his pickup truck overturned Thursday evening following a car crash on Interstate 55, north of Meramec Bottom Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP). According to an MSHP crash report, Matthew N. Dedert was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram truck southbound on I-55 about 7:15 p.m. Thursday when he attempted to change lanes, pulling into the path of a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by James E. An Arnold woman was sent to the hospital after her car was hit from behind in a crash around 7 p.m. on Wednesday on the West Outer Road at El Lago Drive in Imperial, according to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP). Catherine L. Wright, 55, of Arnold, was stopped in the northbound lane of West Outer Road, waiting to make a left turn onto El Lago Drive when her 1989 Chevrolet Silverado was struck from behind by a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Zachary D. Holloway, 18, of Imperial, the MSHP report stated. Wright sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Jefferson County by a Rock Township ambulance. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP report.

McGrath, 49, of Ballwin, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of manslaughter and driving while intoxicated in connection with a car crash Wednesday (Jan. 21) in which his passenger, Angela Chadd, 37, of Imperial, was killed, according to an arrest report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP). McGrath was driving a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on Miller Road, just east of Spring Forest Road, when he failed to negotiate a turn, ran off the road, struck a rock and a tree and then overturned, according to the MSHP crash report.
