Seckman Middle School Holds Pelt the Principal Event for Charity

Students paid a quarter for four marshmallows to throw at their principals and teachers as part of an effort to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Students at Seckman Middle School lined up throughout the lunch hour on Friday for their chance to throw marshmallows at the school's principals and teachers. The event is called "Pelt the Principal," and it's all part of a three-week fundraising effort to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The students paid a quarter for four marshmallows to pelt at school officials. "The students are so excited about it," said Madelyn Layman, the Seckman reading teacher who organized the event. "We'll be holding 'Pelt the Principal' the next two Fridays."   As part of the society's school and youth program, students engage in a three-week campaign to learn about blood cancers while …
