Rent to Own Auto Center to Open Later This Month

The business, located at the former site of Arnold Rental at Jeffco and McClain, sparked concern from nearby residents worried about unwanted traffic in their neighborhood.

Company representatives at Rent to Own Auto Center at the corner of Jeffco Boulevard and McClain Drive are hoping to open their doors on Feb. 20. The business is located at the former site of Arnold Rental at 1204 Jeffco Blvd. Although the property is zoned commercial, Arnold required the business to obtain a conditional-use permit based on concerns from nearby residents, which included traffic congestion, blowing trash, rainwater runoff and the addition of a 15-foot buffer to the residential area. Randy Blount, the company's managing partner, addressed the concerns at a city council meeting, but said the addition of the buffer would require the company to tear down the building and move it. Rent to Own Auto Center Gets Green Light From Arnold City Council

The business, located at the former site of Arnold Rental at Jeffco and McClain, has nearby residents concerned it will have a negative impact on traffic and safety.

A new auto leasing center at the corner Jeffco Boulevard and McClain Drive is one step closer to becoming a reality. At last week's meeting, the Arnold City Council voted 5-to-3 in favor of a conditional use permit for Rent to Own Auto Center, which would be located at the former site of Arnold Rental - 1204 Jeffco Blvd. The property is zoned commercial. Doris Borgelt and Cricky Lang, of Ward 1, Michelle Hohmeier, of Ward 2, and Ken Moss and Sandra Kownacki, of Ward 4, voted in favor of the move. Bill Moritz, of Ward 2, and Phila Amato and Paul Freese, of Ward 3, voted against the permit.
